The lesson listing is updated about once a month, unless something unexpected happens. If you see less than a week's worth of several types of events, an update should be on its way.
Our typical schedule includes Friday Beginner Workshops, Line Dancing on 1st and 3rd Tuesdays, What's Next Classes and Workshops (not for beginners) on Mondays, and (seasonally) 4-Hour Group Classes on various week nights.

Learn cross-over moves that work in both Salsa and Cha Cha, and maybe other dances too! Salsa, Cha Cha, and Deep Dive Workshop
Monday, January 19, 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
I've heard that Cha Cha was invented by Salsa dancers how thought the music was too slow. Sounds crazy to me. But there is no doubt the two dances are closely related. They each have their own character and yet several moves work in both. In this workshop, we'll be examining the similarities that tie these classic dances together. This workshop is not a “high dive,” not intended to be super challenging, but will give you some mind blowing ideas to play with.
Location: Sapphire Studio
Price: $21/person in-studio for one hour and a half workshop
$48/person in-studio for all 3 January workshops.

Beginner Line Dancing
Dance your cares away! Line Dance Line Dance Workshop
Tuesday, January 20, 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Save your worries for another day!
Combine awesome music with expert instruction and you've got a beginner-friendly workshop that will get you moving in no time. Each BLD workshop features an exciting combination of ultra beginner and slightly more challenging dances, giving you the chance to get your feet under you and then challenge yourself to do more. Easiest dances are taught at the beginning of the evening, more challenging dances towards the end, with a bit of social dancing and practice time in between. So, if you've never done this before, don't be late!

Always wanted to learn to dance but didn't know where to start?
Try Salsa! This sizzling Latin dance is a fantastic way to get moving with style and confidence on the dance floor. It works beautifully to a large variety of music (not just Latin Salsa!) and is a great solo dance too.
Missed last week? No problem! Each week we teach a 40-50 minute lesson, starting with the absolute basics in a fun, popular dance style. And then, finish off the hour with a little taste of another style that will be on the schedule the later in the season.
It makes an awesome #DateNight, #ParentsNightOut, or an evening of #FunWithFriends.

Historic Dance (in casual clothes)
Historic Dance (English Country Dance) Workshop
Tuesday, February 10, 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Join the English Country Dancers of the New River Valley Historic Dance Society as we laugh, dance, and enjoy each other's company while learning dance new to us, but old as the 13 Colonies. This is the dancing you find in Pride and Prejudice, that George Washington did on vacation, and that evolved into modern Contra and Square dancing.
Beginners, groups, singles, and families are always welcome. Every dance will be taught by being broken down into simple components and cued while dancing. If you can walk, you can dance, and we'd love to have you join the set.

Price: This workshop is free, but a donation jar will be out during the dancing, if you feel like adding a couple of dollars. .

We offer a wide variety of dance styles for you to try, but for beginners we suggest Hustle, Swing, or Salsa for fast dances and Rumba, NC2, Waltz, or Bachata for slower dances. Lessons are 50 minutes long and will be scheduled on a first come, first choice basis in the afternoon or early evening.
