Social Events are for all dancers, no matter their skill level. Social dance is much about the people as the dancing, and these events make the "Social" a highlight!

Monday, May 6, 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm - Technique What's Next Workshop
This exercise class is specifically geared towards improving your balance while dancing. Of course, that also means improving your balance while standing and walking, which really can't be a bad thing. You will sweat; you may be sore; you will probably complain (we all do); but we keep coming back for more.
Price: $14/person in-studio or $9/person online
No prerequisites in dance ability or fitness level - you just need to be willing to put the work into improving yourself as a dancer.

For anyone who breathed a sigh of relief at the end of school!
Tonight we will be celebrating the big brains, hard work, and curiosity of students, as well as the endless creativity and patience of the teachers who put up with them!
Join fellow dancers, young, old, experienced, and shiny new for an evening of good food, good friends, good times, great music, and incredible dancing. Bring a snack to share and earn our eternal appreciation.
Join us at 7 for a complementary lesson (Style TBD) - it will start friendly and end with a bang!

Early registration is super helpful.
While no one dances to all the music at a dance party, we suggest you be comfortable with a few steps in a few styles. Otherwise, you might be watching more than dancing - way less fun. The pre-dance lesson begins beginner but progresses to intermediate.

Tuesday, May 14, 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm - Historic Dance (English Country Dance) Workshop
Join the English Country Dancers of the New River Valley Historic Dance Society as we laugh, dance, and enjoy each other's company while learning dance new to us, but old as the 13 Colonies. This is the dancing you find in Pride and Prejudice, that George Washington did on vacation, and that evolved into modern Contra and Square dancing.
Beginners, groups, singles, and families are always welcome. Every dance will be taught by being broken down into simple components and cued while dancing. If you can walk, you can dance, and we'd love to have you join the set.
Price: This workshop is free, but a donation jar will be out during the dancing, if you feel like adding a couple of dollars.
None! Beginner and advanced dancers will find lots to love at this workshop.
