The lesson listing is updated about once a month, unless something unexpected happens. If you see less than a week's worth of several types of events, an update should be on its way.
Our typical schedule includes Friday Beginner Workshops, Line Dancing on 1st and 3rd Tuesdays, What's Next Classes and Workshops (not for beginners) on Mondays, and (seasonally) 4-Hour Group Classes on various week nights.

	Valentine's Special Workshops Learn to dance with your Sweetheart! Intro to Social Dance Workshop Friday, February 13, 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm Come and learn to do a sweetly romantic, intensely fun activity with your Sweetheart that you will get to keep doing for years to come. Choose your groove: Learn a Better Slow Dance - 7-8pm - $22/Couple Boogie Together - 8-9pm - $22/Couple Take both classes and learn to dance to a wider variety of music for less than the cost of a dinner out! 	Valentine's Day Private Lesson Special Beginner Private Lesson special Saturday, February 14, 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm With so many options, there is no “right choice” for the day to celebrate, only what's right for you and your sweetie.  Let’s talk about how to savor time with our loved ones with something a little more special than a box of chocolates. (Although, chocolate and dance make a pretty good combo if you want to do both.)   Friday, Feb 13 - Valentine's Day Group Classes Special: Slow Dance at 7:00 and Boogie Together at 8:00 $22/couple/workshop Saturday, Feb 14 - Sweetheart Special - Beginner Private Lessons for $50/couple. Just the two of you (and your teacher!) 	That's Amore With extra chocolate Dance Party Saturday, February 14, 7:00 pm - 10:30 pm When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie, and you gotta dance 'til you fly, and keep rhyming 'til you cry... That's Amore! Hmm, yeah, probably didn't quote the song totally correctly... But you get the point, right? We are not getting sappy this Valentine's Day, we're getting spinny with a Waltz and chocolate themed party. Join fellow dancers, young, old, experienced, and shiny new for an evening of good food, good friends, good times, great music, and incredible dancing. Bring a snack to share - something pizza-ish maybe? Chocolate Pizza is a thing - and earn our eternal appreciation. No matter what, if you're new to dancing, or need dust off your dancing shoes, get here for the beginning of the lesson (7-8pm). It's the best way to warm up for the dance. This dance is included with any Valentine's Day Celebration lessons: Friday workshops or private lessons. (See above for details!) 	Climb Higher, Dive Deeper Look Ma - No Hands! West Coast Swing Deep Dive Workshop Monday, February 16, 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm Take the plunge and learn more, more, more West Coast Swing. Tonight we explore what opportunities manifest when you stop depending so much on hand connections: there's elbows, feet, foreheads, shoulders, and more just waiting for their chance to be useful. Combine awesome music with expert instruction and you've got a beginner-friendly workshop that will get you moving in no time. Each BLD workshop features an exciting combination of ultra beginner and slightly more challenging dances, giving you the chance to get your feet under you and then challenge yourself to do more. Easiest dances are taught at the beginning of the evening, more challenging dances towards the end, with a bit of social dancing and practice time in between. Waltz Friday Beginner Workshop Friday, February 20, 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm Classic and romantic, the Waltz will carry you away like a gentle lullaby put into motion. This elegant dance will teach you grace and balance to beautiful music. With a slow pace and simple rhythm, Waltz is a wonderful dance to start your ballroom journey with. Missed last week? No problem! Each week we teach a 40-50 minute lesson, starting with the absolute basics in a fun, popular dance style. And then, finish off the hour with a little taste of another style that will be on the schedule later in the season. It makes an awesome #DateNight, #ParentsNightOut, or an evening of #FunWithFriends. 	Historic Dance (in casual clothes) Historic Dance (English Country Dance) Workshop Tuesday, March 10, 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm Join the English Country Dancers of the New River Valley Historic Dance Society as we laugh, dance, and enjoy each other's company while learning dance new to us, but old as the 13 Colonies. This is the dancing you find in Pride and Prejudice, that George Washington did on vacation, and that evolved into modern Contra and Square dancing. Beginners, groups, singles, and families are always welcome. Every dance will be taught by being broken down into simple components and cued while dancing. If you can walk, you can dance, and we'd love to have you join the set.
