Schedule |
Private lessons are scheduled based on your goals and availability. They are available as individual lessons or in packages of 4, 6, 12, & 18. |
A Group Class is s everal lessons, planned and announced before the class starts. They usually meet once a week for 4 weeks. |
Each workshop is a stand-alone, individual event. They may occur in clusters, but there's no committment to come to more than one. |
Level and prerequisites |
Are always geared towards your goals and your skill level. |
Can come in Level 1 (L1) through Level 5 (L5).
A Level 2 class would include a review and practice of Level 1 material, but expects students to have covered that material before. |
Beginner Workshops include Friday Beginner Workshops (FNWs), Beginner Line Dance (BLD), Historic Dance, and Excercises to Improve Balance.
dvanced workshops occur mostly on Mondays all have prerequisites listed on our Group Lessons page. |
Benefits |
It's all about you - you get all the asttention, your goals and tastes are top priority.
More daytime availability than groups.
A one-on-one lesson can be more comfortable for some dancers. |
The chance to review, practice, and refine.
Dance week after week with the same people, working through the same challenges and towards the goal. That's how friends are made.
A coherent plan as well as a tested and constantly improving syllabus. Group classes are the most organized option for learning. |
Flexible schedule to accomodate busy life styles. While your life might be pulling you in 20 directions, your dance workshops will be here, waiting, for when you have the time.
A constantly changing and engaging variety of subject material, teachers, and dance styles. |
Downside |
Cost - All that personalized attention is expensive.
Scheduling can be complicated, but usually works out after a lesson or two.
|
If you miss a class, that's on you. You buy the whole class at once. (Missing one night is still probably worth it. Missing two - maybe not.) |
It can be hard to find the right level, because there's really only two: beginner and advanced. Jumping from Beginner to Advanced is possible, but it can be intimidating. |
