The Deep Dive Style for Mondays in July will be....

Slow Waltz !

All Deep Dives have prerequisites. Usually the prereqs are fundamental moves in the dance styles, occasionally a foundation in a different dance style. Please check them carefully or talk to a Sapphire Instructor before attending. The prerequisites for the Deep Dive Waltz Workshops in July are a solid understanding of Level 1 and 2 Slow Waltz, including basic turns/rotations, closed and promenade positions, and hesitations. If you're looking for a more beginner Waltz, check out the Friday Beginner Workshops.

For more information on Deep Dives in general, Check out this newsletter article (http://SapphireDance.com/Email/2023/2023-11-B.html) from last year, when we first announced this addition to our programs.

All Deep Dives are 7:00-8:30pm.
$21/person in-studio for one hour and a half workshop $48/person in-studio for all 3 hour and a half workshops this month.

Historic Dance in Casual Clothes

Tuesday, July 9 and August 13

Join the English Country Dancers of the New River Valley Historic Dance Society as we laugh, dance, and enjoy each other's company while learning dance new to us, but old as the 13 Colonies. This is the dancing you find in Pride and Prejudice, that George Washington did on vacation, and that evolved into modern Contra and Square dancing.
Beginners, groups, singles, and families are always welcome. Every dance will be taught by being broken down into simple components and cued while dancing. If you can walk, you can dance, and we'd love to have you join the set.

Plus - BIG NEWS - We are teaming up NRV Historical Costume Society to host a Bidgerton-themed, fancy dress, historic(ish) ball this fall! Details are still being worked out, so keep watching we'll let you know as they become available. Costumes will not be required.

Slow Waltz is the star of
Friday Beginner Workshops

Fridays, July 12, 19, & 26

Smooth, mellow, and oh so romantic - this is the dance that Sleeping Beauty did "Once Upon a Dream." And you can learn to Waltz (yes you!) this Friday with Sapphire Ballroom. Waltz is slow, friendly, and a great dance to start out with, even for the most hesitant of new dancers. Missed last week? No problem! Each week we teach a 40-50 minute lesson, starting with the absolute basics in a fun, popular dance style. And then, finish off the hour with a little taste of another style that will be on the schedule the later in the season. It makes an awesome #DateNight, #ParentsNightOut, or an evening of #FunWithFriends. #LearnToDance

Easiest dances are taught at the beginning of the evening, more challenging dances towards the end, with a bit of social dancing and practice time in between. So, if you've never done this before, come early!

Come say “hey” to Rose - our newest staff member and budding line dance master!

Sapphire's group classes and workshops are always small, low stress, and fun. They are a great way to meet other people who have also decided to learn to dance, as well as get to know our teaching staff. It doesn't take any long-term investment to get started, no special clothing or shoes - just something comfortable to wear and a sense of adventure. So, take the plunge and try it out.

All classes (in person or online) require registration by noon the day the class starts. We are happy to add late-comers if we can, but classes may be cancelled or rescheduled if registration is low.

Four ways to register, just choose one and we'll take care of the rest:
1 - reply to this email info@sapphiredance.com;
2 - register and pay at the same time at our online store at SapphireBallroom.square.site;
3 - talk to your favorite Sapphire Staff member;
4 - give us a ring at 540-382-8782.

Thanks for reading; we hope you found something you liked. Until we see you again, happy dancing!
