We have a bunch of things going on in the next 10 days, plus a new dance party theme to explore. Here they are all in one place for your dancing pleasure.

The events below have just been added or have exciting news to share, but most of our group classes and events are pretty regular. Historic Dance, Beginning Line Dance, Advanced Line Dance, Exercises to Improve Balance, Dance Parties, Deep Dives, and Friday Beginner Workshops happen every month, on a predictable schedule so that you can plan your dance life (more details on our webpage).

School Daze Dance Party

Level 3.5 West Coast Swing

Tuesdays, May 7 - May 28, at 6pm

We're going to take that cool stuff you've learned and make it better.
Level 3.5 is all about taking the material from levels 1-3 and doing more with it. We'll be exploring alternate hand positions, modifying the rhythm, combining steps into something that feels totally new... And we will also review and practice the fundamental moves too. This is a great class to join if you've been a Westie for a while and want to explore more options without getting super hard.

Will there be a Level 4 in June? I hope so! Let us know if you're interested.

There are prerequisites for this class! Please check SapphireDance.com/GroupLessons.php for details. Please note - this is not a drop-in class, but a 4 week class that builds from one week to the next.

Beginner Line Dance Workshops

We line dance to all kinds of music on 1st and 3rd Tuesdays: May 7, May 21, and June 4 etc. - Please register by noon that day

Line dance is a great way to learn balance, rhythm, and coordination, while having fun. It's aerobic, but in a groovy,inspiring way. Beginner Line Dance Workshops start from scratch each week with a seamless blend of repeat dances, brand new dances, dances we haven't done in a while, and one "challenge" dance to stretch your mental and physical muscles. Each lesson is completely independent - you are welcome to join in at any time with absolutely no experience.

BLD Workshops will keep going on 1st and 3rd Tuesdays all summer with possible exceptions around holidays.

Friday Beginner Workshops
Nightclub 2-Step

On Fridays May 10, May 17, and May 31 - Please register by noon that day

Nightclub 2-Step is a beutiful, slow, simple dance that will give you something so much better and more exciting to do during slow songs than the Stand-&-Sway. If you've got a wedding, anniversary, or birthday coming up, anything where you want to be able to dance with your sweetheart, Nightclub is ready to sweep you off your feet.

Friday Beginer Workshops offer a unique balance of flexibility and repetition that's perfect for the beginner dancer with a hectic schedule. Each lesson is completely independent - you are welcome to join in at any time with absolutely no experience. Each week starts over from the beginning of the feature dance and then progresses to something different. If you attend all three weeks, you will see the basic 3 times, gettign the chance to practice and perfect it, but also learn something different each week to add to your collection.

FBWs will keep going all summer with the exceptions of May 24, July 5, and August 30.

The Deep Dive Style for May will be....
Salsa

On Mondays May 13 and May 20, 7:00-8:30pm - Please register by noon that day

The prerequisites for the Deep Dive Salsa Workshops in May are a solid understanding of Salsa patterns and turns, including dancing left and right side passes, CBL with inside turns, and switch turns (rock step turns) at various slow to moderate speeds. No workshops on May 27 in honor of Memorial Day. June 3 will feature Advanced Line Dance at 7:00pm and Exercises to Improve Balance at 8:00pm.

Can you join the fun if you've never done a Deep Dive before? Yes, absolutely! But all Deep Dives have prerequisites. Usually the prereqs are fundamental moves in the dance styles, occasionally a foundation in a different dance style. Please check them carefully or talk to a Sapphire Instructor before attending.

Historic Dance Workshops

Party like its 1799 on 2nd Tuesdays: May 14, June 11, and July 9 etc. - Please register by noon that day

Do you adore Jane Austin movies? Which version of P&P was the best - let's discuss! How about George Washington - he was a hottie on the dance floor. Join us as we take a spin in historic style during a fun, light-hearted class of English Country Dancing. Each lesson is completely independent - you are welcome to join in at any time with absolutely no experience.

Historic Workshops will keep going on 2nd Tuesdays all summer with possible exceptions around holidays.
