No, I'm not talking about the type of dancing Jason Derulo is espousing.
I'm talking Ballroom, Latin, Swing, Country, and more. If you're looking for fun, relaxed, totally fabulous social activity for your next date night, look at our Date Night Dance Classes (DNDC) at Blacksburg Community Center. Each class is 2 hours of fun: learning and practicing a new skill you can use over and over again. That beats getting another souvenir glass you don't have space for.
If you've dance before, with us or somewhere else, DNDCs are a great way to get started on a new dance style or brush up on one you haven't done a while. If you're brand new to the dance floor, these classes will welcome you with open arms and fun music. Either way, It a great way to spend an evening with your sweetheart.

All DNDCs are taught at the Blacksburg Community Center, 7-9pm on a Tuesday or Wednesday evening. (Looking for a weekend date night? Check out Friday Beginner Workshops. )
Cost for DNDCs is $14/person to Sapphire and $5/person to BCC. (That's a total of $19/person or $38/couple.)
Register with BCC on their website and pay the Sapphire portion of the fee at class or on our webpage at SapphireBallroom.square.site.

We are halfway done with Septmber! That means beautiful trees, mums and pumpkins everywhere, and lots of rain. Might be time to find some fun, indoor activities. Yeah, we've got a few options.
As you might guess, we're gearing up with a whole much of new offerings for your dance adventure as we head into colder climes, as well saying farewell to a few warm-weather events. Keep an eye on SapphireDance.com or our Facebook page for more details about all the stuff we have in store for the next few months.
In the meantime, here's what's on tap for the next few weeks. You'll notice that our more advanced offerings - the What's Next Workshops - are kind of sparce. I'm still working on filling that schedule through October - feel free to make requests!

 Dancing on the New
Swing Workshop plus a sweet little social Dance Party
We are teaming up with Nesselrod on the New for an afternoon of swing dance workshops and a swinging dance party at their gorgeous outdoor pavilion. The party is included for class participants, but it’s also open to the public.
While the party playlist will focus on class material, it will also include all those other styles you’ve heard about and love: Waltz, Tango, West Coast Swing, Hustle, Cha Cha, Rumba, and more.

Sapphire's group classes and workshops are always small, low stress, and fun. They are a great way to meet other people who have also decided to learn to dance, as well as get to know our teaching staff. It doesn't take any long-term investment to get started, no special clothing or shoes - just something comfortable to wear and a sense of adventure. So, take the plunge and try it out.
All classes (in person or online) require registration by noon the day the class starts. We are happy to add late-comers if we can, but classes may be cancelled or rescheduled if registration is low.
Five ways to register, just choose one and we'll take care of the rest:

3 - talk to your favorite Sapphire Staff member;
