Debbi, Lane, and a fantastic group of learning-dancers are wrapping up our first session of group classes this week and that has everyone gearing up to start another session the last week of February. Some exciting Class-by-Requests are joining the already varied line-up with lots of opportunities for new folks and familiar friends alike.

The classes perfect for any beginner dancer are a Swing, Hustle and Bachata class. The Swing will introduce you to two variations of this ever popular hip-happy dance that attracts any one looking for a high energy dance. Hustle is your go to dance for those preparing for a special event as well as any disco fanatics. Bachata is the Latin style this session and is a great introduction to the Latin club scene.

For our more advanced dancers we have a Level 1 Argentine Tango class, great for adding a new style or for a courageous beginner. We will be continuing January's Waltz class to Level 2 in Tuesday's CBR spot and continuing our “Waltz your Fox Trot” in Wednesday's CBR spot.

The Beauty of Walking starts our new series of Upper Level Workshops off on the right foot. Whether an Argentine Tango afficiando or someone new to the enticing world of Tango, this workshop will help you polish and improve your dancing foundations. Energey, posture, rhythm, and embrace all combine to make a beautiful whole. Join us Monday, February 23 at 8:00 for these essential lessons in Tango. Future Argentine Tango topics include Giros, Ochoes, and Embellishments.

Also hap'nin on Monday nights, there's Hustle heating up the floor. This series has already featured classes about Walking the Walk, Extending the Slot, and swirling In and Out of Closed. Upcoming workshops will feature 3-Count, Parallel Breaks, and Push Turns.

Sapphire classes at Dance Motion in Pearisburg are picking up where they left off last year on February 13th. Each class, held on the second Friday of the month, will introduce and play with 2 different dance styles.

Dance Motion is a performing art studio in downtown Pearisburg with a nice space for partner dancing. Jennifer at Dance Motion is interested in bringing the love of dance to Giles County with these introductory workshops perfect for beginners.

Some folks have been showing interest in dance classes in Floyd. So, Sapphire is teaming up with the June Bug Center (http://junebugfloyd.com) to offer a 4-week class of beginner Waltz with the hopes of offering more in the future.
