These workshops are designed to give intermediate and advanced dancers a one-evening blast of information about one particular dance style.

Workshops range in difficulty from accomplished beginner to dancers with many years expereience. Ask the teacher if unsure of suitability.

Level 3-4 Tango

Get ready to dance with a rose in your teeth! We're working the drama in this workshop covering combinations of Outside Partner Basic, Continuous Basic, Open Fan, Rock & Corte (aka Double Corte), Inside Underarm Turn from left side by side, & Outside Underarm Turn from Left Side by Side to Closed. Rose biters should already be comfortable with Levels 1 & 2 Tango which includes Basic (straight and curving up to 1/2 left), Single Corte, and Promenade Basic (turning Left & Right).

Level 3-4 Salsa

This fast-paced workshop will challenge beginner and intermediate dancers, and still entertain advanced dancers. We'll cover some exciting new combination of the following moves: Cross Body Lead with Inside Turn, Lasso, Double Hand Comb, Full Chase Turns, Left Side Pass, Promenade Swivel, Peek-A-Boo, Spiral, Right Side Pass and Back Spot Turn.

Time to kick up your heels, 'cause this workshop will really get you moving 'round the dance floor! This workshop could feature anything from Double Outside Underarm Turn, Double Inside Underarm Turn, Check Turn from Cape, Promenade to Backing Line of Dance, Cross Body Lead, Pivot from Backing Line of Dance, Checked Outside Turn to Inside Turn, Check Turn in Cuddle, Forward and Back Promenade in Skaters, and as always, more turns!

Silver Waltz

Is it time to upgrade your Waltz? To try something really challenging? We'll be leaving Bronze figures behind to venture on to the next level: Silver. The material will cover some combination chosen from the Open Left Turn (i.e. Reverse Turn), Open Right Turn (i.e. Open Twinkle, Open Natural, Open Impetus, and Continuity Ending), Traveling Twinkles, Flip Flops, and Grapevine, plus variations on all these figures.
Students should be confident of their knowledge up through Level 4 Bronze Waltz (Essential Ballroom) plus Forward Traveling Twinkles as well as be proficient with outside partner and promenade positions, have knowledge of heel/toe footwork, and understand the rise & fall character of Waltz.

This workshop is intended to get you up and get the Bolero cooking before we really attack the technique in the AdvTech Class starting Jan-11. We will have fun mixing and matching some of these patterns: Breaks (in every direction you can think of, including Outside), Open Break and UA Turn, Cross Body Lead, Left Side Pass, Right Side Pass, and Solo Switch Turns.

        East Coast and Single Time Swing Technique

In response to several requests that we spend more time in higher level classes working purely on technique, we’re adding this Workshop at the beginning of our Swing sequence and a similar one at the end of the Rumba sequence. In this workshop, we’ll focus on musicality and rhythm, body motion, refining turn technique, and keeping connection in the midst of all those turns. Don’t miss this workshop because, you know, it don’t mean a thing if YOU ain’t got that swing!
