Staff Favorites - January 12, 2008 |
| We've been working hard to put this one together for you. Each member of the staff here at Sapphire has chosen a few favorite dance tunes (choosing was the hard part) and we've lined them up - one after the other - to create an absolutely spectacular night of dancing. We'll start the evening with a lesson in Fox Trot and Rumba. |

Welcome Party - January 26, 2008 |
| The prefect evening to try ballroom dancing fro the first time. We'll start the evening with a strictly beginner lesson featuring 3 essential dance styles, then put what you've learned to use for the rest of the evening. The evening will also feature mixers to help in getting to know new friends, newcomer specials, and a couple of demos by some of our more experienced students. It's a great time to bring a first-time guest! |

Gimme-A-Break - March 08, 2008 |
| Coming in the middle of Spring Break, we figured we all need a break. So we're celebrating the breaks: break from the routine, break-up songs, breaking out of the mold, and best of all, hitting the breaks in the music. Not sure what that last one means? Beach Party - June 14, 2008 |
Celebrate summer the way only dancers can! We're talkin' Beach party (without the sand) - so dig out your Bermuda shorts and Hawaiian shirts. We'll start the evening with (what else?) a Carolina Shag lesson.
Parking will not be as usual. Main St. will be closed from the Town Hall up to the Burger King drive-through and Franklin will be closed from Depot to First St.
You can find parking at the following locations:
-Medical Arts Building after 4 pm (take First Street to Hickok to the lot),
-Behind Macado’s, and
-The private parking lot between Dollar General and Burger King drive-through.

80's Explosion - June 28, 2008 |
| Tease your hair, dig out your spandex mini-skirt - do whatever you have to - this night will be awesome! (Totally.) The next decade dance in 2008, we'll focus on 80's music, but that won't limit our dancing! We'll feature a totally tubular lesson in East Coast Swing and Rumba, Dude. |

World Tour - July 26, 2008 |
| Travel the world without bothering with a passport! We'll have costumes and decorations on display from around the world, travel themed music, some favorite international dances: Argentine Tango and Merengue. To add to the fun, this month we're applying the idea of "Think Globally; Act Locally." All through July, we'll be collecting non-perishable foods for the Southwestern Virginia Second Harvest Food Bank. Our goal is at least 100 items. Bring your donation to the dance with you to help us "Act Locally." |

| Time to dig out your bobby socks and poodle skirts. We'll feature a lesson Rumba, starting simple and ending super-duper. So if you're new to Rumba, make sure to come right at the beginning, and if you're already the Big Man on the Rumba Campus, feel free to join us part way through. After the lesson, we'll keep the night rockin' and-a rollin' with our favorite songs from the 50s and 60s. |

Dance The Turkey Away - November 29, 2008 |
| OK - so we know that we missed the 4th Saturday of November, but our "after the turkey celebration" has become so much a favorite, we just had to move it this year. So don't hesitate - eat too much for Thanksgiving and then join us as we dance the turkey away at our annual post-T-day dance. It's been a blast the last few years - let's make it even better this year! Lesson: the Fox Trot, 'cause you know - foxes like turkey too. |

Snowflake Ball - December 13, 2008 |
| Ready for a winter wonderland? Lovely weather for a sleigh ride? Or just want to rock around the Christmas Tree? Join us as we get a little "flaky" at our last dance in 2008! We'll spend some time with the sugarplums while learning some Night Club 2. He sees you when you're dancing, he knows when you sit down, he knows if you lead or follow, so you better be there for goodness sake! Semi-Formal attire encouraged. |
