Outdoor Dance Party and Swing Lesson

The end is near... of Summer I mean. It's time to get your summer sand-bucket list done and ready to wash out with the tide. (Can you tell I want beach time?) With the start of the school year right around the corner, I'm not going to make it to the beach this year, buuuuut Swinging on the New might give me enough of an End-Of-Summer fix to carry me into fall and pumpkin spice season.

Swing by Nesselrod on the New for Sapphire's August outdoor Dance Party this Sunday, August 13. We will have an East Coast Swing lesson and a second intro-to-something lesson 4:00-5:30. Then we'll swing into gear for a dance party heavy in those featured styles, but also including lots of other dance music so you can groove the afternoon away.

We've had 2 of these dance parties already this year (see below for pictures) and will have another one on October 8.

Each Swinging on the New Dance Party will have a Swing lesson to start the fun, then we'll get a little bit of a second style afterwards. For this month I really can't decide - what would you like to see? We might go for Swing and Polka in October - maybe?!? So, if you come to several of the SotN Dances, you'll get several hours of Swing instruction plus the chance to learn, dance, and enjoy a few other populuar styles as well. If you've been to a Friday Beginner Workshop, it will be a lot like that, only with more time and with a bit of something for more experienced dancers as well. There's almost always a few line dances thrown in, too.

One more Two-Step and then Salsa!

We have one more night of the spin-arific Country Two-Step and then Fridays are gonna get sassy with Salsa! It's fast, saucy, and ready to party to all kinds of music, but especially made for that awesome Latin jam.

Missed last week? No problem. Each week we teach a 40-50 minute, lesson in a fun, popular dance style, starting with the absolute basic steps. And then finish off the hour with a little taste of a style that will be on the schedule later in the season. Each week starts fresh so complete beginners are always welcome!

You’ve heard of line dancing. Maybe you’ve done the Electric Slide or the Cha Cha Slide. But there’s so much more! More music, more moves, more variety.
We ask for registration for any particular workshop by noon the day of that workshop. So, let us know you're coming, call your friends, and learn to line dance. The dance floor is waiting for you.

Sapphire's group classes and workshops are always small, low stress, and fun. They are a great way to meet other people who have also decided to learn to dance, as well as get to know our teaching staff. It doesn't take any long-term investment to get started, no special clothing or shoes - just something comfortable to wear and a sense of adventure. So, take the plunge and try it out.

All classes (in person or online) require registration by noon the day the class starts. We are happy to add late-comers if we can, but classes may be cancelled or rescheduled if registration is low.
