Let's welcome March as it “comes in like a lion” as long as it includes lots of dancing! February had us dodging the weather, but now we’ve made up almost all of our canceled classes. As we continue through the end of winter weather (yay, the end is in sight!), keep up the dancing and stay tuned if the weather is iffy. Whether it's beautiful outside or rainy/wet/yucky, nothing beats ending your day with a dance lesson. It’s the perfect time of year to be dancing.

A new and exciting 10-week session of Junior Ballroom @ Sapphire starts this Friday, March 4, at 5:00pm. The Jr Ballroomers chose to focus on the fast turning Viennese Waltz and fancy, funky East Coast Swing. Lots of spins, lots of speed mean lots of fun! Spread the word to all the teens you know about this great opportunity to learn a life long skill that will bring them tons of enjoyment. No experience or partner is necessary.

Ever wanted to be able to dance to Straus? Whether Blue Danube and Die Fladermaus get you moving or you’re more into That’s Amore and Hot Diggity, Viennese Waltz is the high speed, high powered dance for you! Current or classic, the music will sweep you off your feet (not literally), and this dance will charm your heart.

You should have some experience Slow Waltz before jumping in the fast lane, so we ask that participants have at least Level 3 Waltz or equivalent experience.

Throughout March and into April these two characters of a dance will be featured in our Upper Level Workshop series. Both dances have workshops perfect for your introduction to Upper Level Mondays with only a Level 1 prerequisite. Join us for Break Out Break Steps in Cha Cha on March 14 at 7:00 and for Side-By-Side in American Tango on March 21.

All the Monday Night Workshops are come as you can (or want), so don’t worry if next week’s workshop sounds too hard, or unappealing - just come to this week’s!

Starting Monday, April 5, we are cranking up your West Coast Swing to a “High Powered” Swing! For those with Level 3 experience or some equivalent in this dance, we will be spending 4 weeks exploring this dance by taking foundational moves and putting a creative “spin” on them. For a dance that has a strong element of improvisation, being able to change up your direction, timing, etc., is crucial, and that is what we will explore!
