1 - Monster Bash Dance Party, this Saturday, Oct 10

Father TimeOnce upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary……”shall I stay at home at and be a bore”....Quoth the Raven, “Nevermore.”

Likely your first halloween event, this is a great place to debut this year’s costume. Just make sure you can dance in it! And if you don’t have a costume, come anyway - you won’t be the only one.

With a lesson on East Coast Swing, some really cool music and snacks brought by dancers like you, it’s a night you don’t want to miss. Plus, who wants to stay at home waiting for a tap at your door?

2 - Swing & Night Club 2 Step Rounding Out Upper Level Mondays
Upper Level Mondays

Opposites attract when Swing and Night Club 2-Step join forces to make Monday nights in Christiansburg dynamic and exciting. One’s fast, one’s slow. One is bouncy, the other is smooth. These two equally awesome dances will be keeping you happy (and challenged) well into November.

Never been to an Upper Level Workshop before? Both workshop sets are still in the lower levels, making them a great first-time choice. Talk to an instructor if you are interested in coming and want to know more. The very friendly and welcoming group of Monday night regulars are always happy to see new faces at the workshops.

Details on all of our Upper Level Workshops are available on-line at http://SapphireDance.com/int-adv-wksp.php

3 - Blacksburg Classes-By-Request: Special Edition!

GRoup Class couple In order to squeeze as many group classes into the end of the year as possible, we are putting two, two hour for two week “Class-By-Requests” into October. Too confusing? So, instead of our usual 4 hours in 4 weeks, we are squeezing 4 hours into 2 weeks. Here’s the details:

On Tuesday, October 20 & 27, 6:15-8:15pm, the current Level 1 Bachata class will be kicking their dancing up a notch with a Level 2. If you already Bachata, and want to join them, let us know!

And, on Wednesday, October 21 & 28, 6:00-8:00pm, the West Coast Swing class will be continuing on to a Level 2, where things get really exciting. Already taken West Coast and want to review and polish? Join the gang!

Please don’t hesitate to ask us if you have questions. We hope that these dances and levels will appeal to you and that you will join us!

Complete details are available on-line for all these classes, and November group classes as well, at http://SapphireDance.com/groupclasses.php

4 - High Powered Salsa

SalsaStill running off of the high energy from our last “High Powered” Rumba, we are excited to be offering a “High Powered” Salsa!

There’s been a lot enthusiasm in our Blacksburg Salsa classes, so we are bringing it to Upper Level Mondays in Christiansburg. Starting October 26, we will begin 4 weeks of exploring Salsa by pulling out some patterns that utilize the technique and character of Salsa to the max.

If you love Salsa, and have Level 3 experience, sign up today. Talk to an instructor to see if this class is right for you and check out the details at http://SapphireDance.com/class.php#salsa

6 - Karen Jaffe back in January

Karen JaffeIt gives us great pleasure to announce that Karen Jaffe will be returning to Sapphire for more Argentine Tango this January! The overwhelming feeling from everyone during her recent visit was “when is she coming back?” So, we didn’t let her leave without setting the date. The idea is to keep building off all the we learned in both workshops and private lessons, and really move forward with her coming back so soon, as well as share with the folks who were unable to join us last month. Mark your calendars for January 22-24 with an alternative “snow date” for February 5-7.

If you missed her September visit, don’t worry! We will still be offering her “Path to Tango” class which is truly that...a wonderful first introduction to Argentine Tango. It’s so wonderful that experienced dancers keep coming back for more, and getting more out of it every time!

We are working out the details even as you read this and will have them posted on-line asap. There will an early bird pricing discount for anyone who pre-registers before the end of October so do be on the lookout for it so that you don’t miss it. Email us directly if you want to sign up.

Karen will literally be traveling all over the country between now and when we see her next...follow all that she is up to from her home in Asheville and beyond at http://www.tangogypsies.com/.
